The Mid-Lite Debloat Tummy in Brighton & Hove: Lymphatic Treatment for Bloating, Comfort and Digestive Ease (Copy)

You know the feeling. The abdomen that starts the day relatively comfortable and finishes it tight, full and distended. The bloating that arrives whether you eat carefully or not. The sense of your own midsection as something that has its own agenda, unresponsive to the changes you make, resistant to the things that are supposed to help.

Chronic bloating is one of the most common complaints that women bring to wellness practitioners, and one of the least effectively addressed. Because the standard advice, dietary changes, probiotics, more water, less stress, gets at some of it, but misses a key piece, known as the lymphatic system.

The Mid-Lite Debloat Tummy is a focused lymphatic treatment for the abdominal area, available in Hove, East Sussex and Fulham, London. It uses abdominal massage, compression techniques and foot reflexology to support the body to release excess fluid, ease digestive tension and restore a genuine sense of lightness and comfort through the midsection.

Why the Lymphatic System Is Central to Abdominal Bloating

The abdomen is one of the most lymphatically complex regions of the body. It houses major lymph nodes and vessels, plays a central role in immune function, and is intimately connected to digestion, hormonal health and fluid balance. The mesenteric lymph nodes, responsible for filtering lymph from the intestines, are among the most important in the body.

When the lymphatic system in this area becomes sluggish, the effects are felt directly in the digestive system and through the abdomen. Fluid begins to accumulate in the tissue. The digestive organs work in a more congested environment. The sensation of fullness, distension and discomfort that we call bloating is often, at least in part, a lymphatic problem.

This is why dietary changes alone are not always sufficient. If the lymphatic system isn't draining efficiently, the underlying congestion will persist regardless of what is, or isn't, being eaten.

For women in perimenopause and menopause, this is especially relevant. The abdominal area is particularly vulnerable to fluid retention during hormonal transitions, and many women notice a significant increase in bloating and abdominal heaviness during this life stage that doesn't respond to the interventions that previously worked.

“My approach always begins by listening to the body. Lymphatic work isn’t simply about drainage. It’s about creating the right conditions for the body to do what it already knows how to do.”

What Is the Mid-Lite Debloat Tummy Treatment?

The Mid-Lite Debloat Tummy is a Lymphology®-informed treatment developed specifically for the abdominal area. It uses a combination of manual massage, compression and reflexology to work with the body's lymphatic and digestive systems simultaneously, addressing the fluid retention, tissue congestion and nervous system tension that contribute to chronic bloating.

Katie's approach to abdominal work is informed by her training in Lymphology® and her broader understanding of how the lymphatic system maps through the trunk and lower body. She works with an anatomical precision that most abdominal massage treatments don't bring, understanding where the lymph nodes sit, how the drainage pathways of the abdomen connect to those of the legs and chest, and how to sequence the work for maximum effectiveness.

What the Treatment Includes

  • Manual abdominal massage: gentle but intentional work across the midsection, following the lymphatic and digestive anatomy of the abdomen to support fluid movement and ease digestive tension. This is not a general stomach rub, it is precisely mapped work guided by an understanding of the lymphatic vessels, nodes and the pathway of the colon

  • Compression techniques: applied to encourage lymphatic flow and reduce fluid retention through the abdominal area, deepening the effect of the manual work

  • Foot reflexology: targeting the reflex points on the feet that correspond to the digestive system and lymphatic pathways. Reflexology adds a dimension to the treatment that cannot be achieved through abdominal work alone, working with the body's reflex map to support drainage from an entirely different angle

  • Targeted Legology drainage products: applied throughout to stimulate circulation, support lymphatic flow and enhance the treatment's results

What to Expect During Your Appointment

The treatment begins with activation, gentle preparation that opens the body's drainage pathways before the more specific abdominal work begins. This initial step ensures the treatment is building into an open system rather than working against congestion.

Hands-on abdominal massage is then applied, working both gently and with precision across the stomach, colon and intestinal area. The sequence follows the body's own digestive and lymphatic pathway, moving in the direction of natural drainage rather than simply across the surface of the abdomen.

Compression techniques deepen the work, followed by reflexology through the feet, a grounding, settling addition that many clients find the most relaxing part of the treatment. The feet hold reflex points that correspond to every organ and system in the body; for digestive and lymphatic work, they are a powerful complement to the direct abdominal work.

As the treatment progresses, many clients notice a softening through the abdomen, a release of tightness and a reduction in the sensation of distension. The stomach often begins to feel quieter, less pressurised, more at ease.

In the hours and days following treatment, clients frequently report improved digestive ease and regularity, continued reduction in bloating, and a sustained sense of lightness and comfort through the midsection.

Results: What Clients Experience

  • A visibly flatter, less distended abdomen — often noticeable immediately after the session

  • Reduced bloating and digestive discomfort

  • Improved digestive ease and regularity in the days following treatment

  • Genuine lightness and comfort through the midsection

  • Reduced fluid retention in the abdominal area

  • A sense of ease and settling in the nervous system

Results build with regular treatment, and many clients find the Mid-Lite particularly effective when received as a monthly session.
