The Lymphatic Reset Body in hove: Full-Body Drainage Treatment for Lightness and Renewal

There's a particular kind of heaviness that rest doesn't seem to touch. You wake up tired. Your legs feel dense by midday. Your abdomen is tight and full even when you haven't eaten much. You look in the mirror and notice a puffiness through your face that wasn't there a few years ago.

This isn't about fitness or diet. It's about lymph.

The Lymphatic Reset Body is a full-body treatment designed by Katie Light of The Light Technique in Hove, a carefully sequenced, multi-modality experience that works with the body's lymphatic system to reduce fluid retention, support detoxification, and restore the kind of lightness that so many women find increasingly difficult to access as they move through their thirties, forties and fifties.

Understanding the Lymphatic System and Why It Slows Down

The lymphatic system is the body's primary detoxification network. It is responsible for collecting and transporting waste products, regulating fluid balance, supporting immune function and maintaining the health of every tissue in the body.

Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system has no pump. It relies on movement, breathing, and skilled manual stimulation to move fluid through its vessels and nodes. This is why sedentary periods, stress, surgery, hormonal changes and the natural process of ageing can all affect lymphatic function — and why so many women find themselves carrying more fluid, feeling heavier and experiencing a general sense of congestion in the body that nothing seems to fully address.

For women in perimenopause and menopause, the lymphatic system is under particular pressure. Oestrogen plays an important role in regulating lymphatic function and fluid balance, and as levels shift during this life stage, many women notice significant changes, increased fluid retention in the legs and abdomen, a heavier feeling through the body, skin that seems more congested or reactive. Lymphatic treatment can be one of the most effective interventions available.

What Makes the Lymphatic Reset Body Treatment Unique?

Most lymphatic drainage massage available in Brighton and Hove focuses on manual techniques alone. The Lymphatic Reset Body goes considerably further, combining hands-on massage with specialist equipment and a full-body approach that addresses the lymphatic system as the connected network it actually is.

My approach always begins by listening to the body. Lymphatic work isn’t simply about drainage. It’s about creating the right conditions for the body to do what it already knows how to do.
— Katie Light

Katie's training in lymphatic work spans the whole body: she has studied how the lymphatic system functions in the legs, abdomen, chest, collarbone and face, and she brings this comprehensive understanding to every treatment. The Lymphatic Reset Body is designed to work across all of these areas in a single session, creating a whole-system reset rather than targeted work in one area.

What the Treatment Includes

The Lymphatic Reset Body brings together a sequence of techniques that work together as a complete system:

  • Dry body brushing: gentle, rhythmic stimulation of the skin's surface to activate the superficial lymphatic vessels and prepare the body for the deeper drainage work that follows

  • Hands-on lymphatic drainage massage: skilled, methodical work across the whole body to encourage fluid movement through the lymphatic pathways

  • Abdominal sculpting: targeted work through the midsection to support lymphatic flow, ease digestive congestion and address the abdominal fluid retention that many women find particularly uncomfortable

  • Therabody RecoveryAir compression boots: pneumatic compression applied to the legs, systematically moving fluid upward through the lower limbs in a way that manual massage alone cannot fully replicate. This technology is used by professional athletes for recovery and brings a powerful drainage dimension to the treatment

  • PEMF mat support: pulsed electromagnetic field therapy working throughout the session at a cellular level to enhance circulation and support the body's natural recovery processes

  • Neck, shoulder and facial work: extending the treatment upward to ensure the whole system, from the feet to the face, is addressed

What to Expect During Your Appointment

The session begins with dry body brushing, a meditative, grounding process that activates the lymphatic system and creates a sense of connection with the body before the deeper work begins.

Hands-on lymphatic drainage massage follows, working systematically across the body with the methodical, rhythmic technique that effective lymphatic work requires. This is not a relaxation massage, it is precise, intentional work, but many clients find it deeply settling, particularly as the Therabody compression boots are applied to the legs.

While the compression boots work through the lower body, Katie's hands continue across the abdomen, chest, neck and face, ensuring the full lymphatic network is supported. The treatment is designed so that no part of the system is left behind.

The PEMF mat works throughout the session, supporting the body at a level deeper than touch can reach, enhancing cellular function and supporting the body's recovery in the hours and days that follow.

Clients consistently describe a noticeable shift during the session, a sensation of heaviness beginning to lift, of the body softening and releasing something it has been holding. By the end of the treatment, many feel lighter in a way that is both physical and something harder to name.
