If you have experienced a miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or the grief that follows failed IVF or fertility treatment, this page is for you.

There is no right way to move through this kind of loss. It asks things of you that are hard to put into words and it often asks them of your body as well as your heart.

Katie works with women at this stage of their journey with gentleness, experience and deep care. She does not offer a programme or a protocol. She offers her presence, her hands and a space that is entirely yours.

"Grief after pregnancy loss is unlike almost any other. It is a loss that many people around you may not fully understand and it is a loss that lives in the body as much as anywhere else.

"I have worked with women who have experienced miscarriage, late loss, stillbirth, the end of IVF that didn't work, and the complicated grief that comes when you don't know whether to keep trying. Each of these is its own experience. Each woman carries it differently.

"What I know from sitting with this kind of grief is that the body needs to be heard. It has been through something enormous: physically, hormonally, emotionally. And often, in the rush to recover, to get back to normal, to start again, that is skipped over.

"My work creates space for the body to be acknowledged. To release what it has been holding. To settle the nervous system, which in times of profound loss can become stuck in a state of shock or numbness that talking alone doesn't always reach.

"There is no agenda in these sessions. No timeline or expectation of what you should feel or where you should be. You come as you are, and we begin there."

What a session with Katie feels like

Sessions always begin with a conversation, as brief or as long as you need. There is no pressure to explain yourself, to provide a history or to know what you want from the session. Katie will ask gentle questions and follow where you lead.

The bodywork that follows is always gentle. It works with the nervous system and the body's own tissue, encouraging release without force, settling without rush. Some clients arrive feeling numb and leave with a sense that something has begun to move. Others arrive raw and leave feeling held and a little steadier. Sometimes the work is very quiet indeed.

There is no fixed format. Sessions adapt entirely to where you are on the day, because grief is not linear, and neither is recovery.

What happens in the body after loss

Pregnancy loss at any stage, involves profound hormonal, physical and neurological shifts. The body moves through the loss whether or not we consciously attend to it. But when grief is held without support, the body will often continue to carry it: in the tissue, in the nervous system, in a chronic low-level state of bracing or shutdown.

Katie's work supports the body to move through this more gently. To drain what has accumulated. To soften what has contracted. To allow the nervous system to find its way back from a state of shock or vigilance into something more spacious.

This is slow, careful work. It is not about fixing or rushing. It is about being alongside and supporting the body to do what it already knows how to do, when it is given the right conditions.

Grief, the mind & finding steadiness again

For many women, pregnancy loss brings not just grief but a profound disorientation. A loss of the future that was imagined. A changed relationship with the body. A complicated mix of sadness, anger, numbness and sometimes hope that feels frightening to hold.

Katie works with the mind as well as the body. Very gently, and only when it feels right, she may work with intention and affirmation, not to push through the grief, but to help create a quiet place of steadiness within it. A place to stand that is not swept away by everything the loss has stirred up.

This is not therapy, and it is not a replacement for counselling or other mental health support. For some clients, working with Katie alongside a grief counsellor or therapist is the most supportive combination. She is always happy to discuss this.

If you are thinking about trying again

There is no right time. Some women come to Katie in the immediate aftermath of loss. Others come months or years later, when the grief has settled but something in the body still hasn't. And some come when they are beginning to think, tentatively, about trying again and want to feel more prepared, more settled, more themselves before they do.

All of these are the right time. Katie will meet you wherever you are.

A note on outcomes

Katie is not a grief counsellor, therapist or medical practitioner. The work she offers is holistic bodywork: powerful, gentle and experienced. For some women it is exactly what is needed alongside other support. For others it becomes the primary space of care during this time.

If you are unsure whether this is right for you, or if you would simply like to speak to Katie before booking, please reach out. There is no pressure and no obligation.
