Supporting Your Body and Mind Through Fertility and Pregnancy
Hove, East Sussex & Fulham, South West London
There is a particular kind of holding that happens
when you are trying to conceive.
A constant, quiet monitoring. A hope that rises and falls month by month. A body that is doing its best and a mind that is working very hard to stay steady alongside it.
If you are in that place, or preparing for it, going through IVF, recovering from loss and thinking about trying again, or simply wanting to give your body the best possible conditions before you begin, Katie's work at The Light Technique may be exactly what you need.
This is not a specialist fertility clinic. What Katie offers is something different: a deeply holistic approach to supporting the whole person: body, nervous system, lymphatic health and emotional state, at what is often the most physically and emotionally demanding chapter of a woman's life.
Some women who have worked with Katie through this time have gone on to conceive. She would never claim credit for that. But she has witnessed, again and again, what becomes possible when a woman's body is genuinely supported, her nervous system is settled and her mind is cleared of the weight it has been carrying.
"When a woman comes to me who is trying to conceive, the first thing I notice is how much she is carrying. Not just the hope of it, but the monitoring, the planning, the grief of months that didn't work, the pressure she puts on herself to do everything right.
My work begins by asking the body to put that weight down. Not permanently, but for an hour. To stop bracing. To remember what it feels like to simply be held, rather than holding everything together.
The lymphatic system, the nervous system, the fascia: these are not separate from fertility. They are the internal environment in which conception either does or doesn't happen. When we support that environment, when we clear what has accumulated, settle what is dysregulated, and restore a sense of ease and flow, we change the conditions. We don't control outcomes. But we create the best possible ground.
I have sat with women through the most tender parts of this journey. Through IVF cycles and the waiting. Through the grief of loss and the tentative hope of trying again. I don't treat fertility. I treat the person. And that, I've found, is what makes all the difference."
what the work supports
the body prepared
The body holds everything: every month of trying, every hormone shift, every round of treatment. Over time, that accumulates. Fluid stagnates and tissue holds tension. The body starts working harder than it needs to just to maintain itself.
Katie works to clear that accumulation. To encourage the body's lymphatic and circulatory systems to move freely. To release what has been held in the tissue and restore a sense of lightness, flow and physical ease. Many clients describe feeling, for the first time in months, like their body belongs to them again.
the nervous system settled
Trying to conceive, particularly over a sustained period, or through medical intervention, keeps the nervous system in a low-grade state of vigilance. The body is scanning. The mind is tracking. The stress response is never fully off.
This matters more than most people realise. The nervous system and the reproductive system are intimately connected. When the body is held in chronic stress, it prioritises survival over reproduction. Not consciously, but physiologically. The work Katie does goes deep into the nervous system, encouraging it to shift out of vigilance and into genuine rest. Into a state where the body feels, at a cellular level, that it is safe.
the mind, steady & clear
The mental load of fertility is immense and largely invisible. Katie works with the mind as well as the body, using affirmation, intention and the quieter practices of her work to help clients move from a place of anxious striving into something more grounded. A clearer sense of self, with a steadier relationship with hope.
This isn't about positive thinking. It's about removing the static: the grief, the fear, the exhaustion, so that what remains is something more spacious. A mind that is settled enough to hold both the difficulty and the possibility at the same time.
Love for FERTILITY TREATMENT with Katie
“I honestly cannot recommend Katie highly enough. She supported me through fertility treatment and both of my pregnancies, and I am not sure how I would have got through those years without her.
Whether it was Reiki, massage, coaching or simply listening when I needed it, Katie always seemed to know exactly what I needed at that moment. She helped me feel calmer, more balanced and more in tune with my body, and she was a constant source of support through what can be a very stressful and emotional time.
Katie is incredibly empathetic, insightful and gifted at what she does. But more than that, she genuinely cares. She helped keep me sane when I needed it most, and I will always be grateful for the role she played in helping me through fertility treatment, pregnancy and becoming a mum.”
