CONSCIOUS CONNECTED BREATHWORK TO RESTORE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH.

A breathwork one to one starts with 10-15 minutes of taking therapy for Katie to understand where you’re at in life and where you would like to be. Followed by breathing pattern analysis to see how you are breathing or where you’re not breathing. Katie uses a simple, gentle conscious breath practice as well as balancing and restorative breathing techniques. You will learn to breathe more fully, freely and naturally again and activate the natural healing processes that we all hold within us.

We will be working with all the senses in a 60-minute breath (90-minute session) to activate the breath which will include- talking therapy, movement, sound, and touch , including bodywork and visualisation. Katie also uses Energy healing at the end of her sessions which deepens the experience while you’re body relaxes and restores itself. With inner healing intelligence guiding the process, the quality and content of the experience is unique to each person and their intentions and needs.

For the online breathwork it is guided throughout by Katie and you will learn self-massage and receive distant healing whilst you are restoring your body at the end of the session.

Breathwork is a process of self-discovery and empowerment that allows you to connect you to your breath. It brings you to a place of balance, peace and joy in the body. It opens up the respiratory system fully, flooding the body with life force energy. It releases tension, supports natural healing, and restructures the internal systems.

Most people haven’t heard of ‘Conscious Connected Breathwork’ (CCB). Neither had I until I was inspired by Nicola Price, the amazing founder of Inspirational Breathing. I’ve experienced a truly transformational journey. Now I want to share the effectiveness of breathwork with you. Let me show you how it connects and balances the body, mind and emotions - creating complete 360-degree wellness.

Are you:

  • Feeling anxious

  • Overwhelmed, consumed by fear

  • Feeling angry, resentful

What to expect:

  • An Inspirational Breathing session works with a powerful mix of tools and techniques to encourage a free-flowing breath using the whole respiratory system. These techniques include a 2:1 conscious connected breath, movement, sound, touch, affirmations and visualisations.

  • I create a safe space for you to work through the chatter of your mind, guiding you to release any layers of pain or discomfort, finding the joy, laughter and bliss waiting to be rediscovered.

  • Each session is between 90-120 minutes and includes talking time to understand your needs and personalise your experience. This is followed by a 60-minute breathwork session, relaxation and after care.

  • You’ll have a safe space in a one-to-one breathwork session to calm the nervous system and manage the breath.

  • Please be aware that strong emotions may arise, which is totally expected and the usual practice. I will be there to guide you through each stage, and keep you within your comfortable bandwidth of releasing whatever comes up for you. The body will only allow the emotions to come up that it can deal with and process.

  • What might happen in an Inspirational Breathing session working with Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB):

    • Tingling

    • Dizziness or light headedness

    • Trembling or shaking in parts of the body or the whole body

    • Other physical sensations

    • Temperature shifts, too hot or cold (wear warm socks!)

    • Surfacing of emotions

  • If you’re new to CCB, I recommend guidance from a qualified practitioner like myself. Sometimes it’s possible to become unconscious, typically on an exhale. This is very normal and can even be a blissful experience for some people.

  • Every session is different, so it is important to let go of all expectations, and just allow yourself to be present in the moment.

What you need in preparation for an online breathwork session…

  • Lying on the floor. The best way to connect with your spine. A yoga mat with some blankets is ideal. Make sure you can lie with your legs flat and spread your arms to the sides. Surround yourself with pillows, blankets, cushions, anything soft, warm and cosy.

  • Wear comfortable clothes. Loose clothing, no buttons, zips or tight straps and ideally no make-up, as it’s important to see your skin tone.

  • Be seen. A side view from your head to feet, including your hands — or at least one! They are a first indicator of hyperventilation. Note: if it is due to get dark, I might not be able to see you.

  • Keep warm. Prepare to stay warm. You might find it useful to have a warm belly bag or a hot water bottle (these can double up as a weight to place on parts of the body during the breathing session). An electric blanket to lie on or lay over you is ideal. Warm socks are a must — your body temperature can drop suddenly. People tend to forget this one!

  • Drink plenty of water. Or herbal drinks from 48 hours before our session and avoid caffeine and alcohol, and have a drink to hand for after the session.

  • Interruption free. Make sure that there will be no interruptions. Phones off and a note on the door saying no knocking or bell ringing; deliveries happen just when you are settling down!

  • A bottle top. A plastic bottle top, cut round the top, a good inch from the spout, to pop in your mouth to help you open your jaw.

  • An eye mask. To block out the light. If you don't have one a scarf will do just as well.

  • Tissues. And a bowl to spit in might be necessary.

  • Zoom. On a laptop or similar is perfect, phones are not really ideal due to their screen size.

  • After our session. You might like to arrange a quiet evening. You will be processing and integrating for 48 hours afterwards. It will be beneficial to take it really easy!

  • Technology failures. If the internet connection fails, it may be momentary, in which case you can move into child’s pose or stay as you are keeping the breath connected till the call is resumed. If we lose connection completely then it is best to log off and come back on again. Please make sure power is fully charged up and that Zoom is downloaded onto the device you will be using.

  • Safety Measures. Feel free to share a family or friend’s contact number. This a comforting precaution, especially if you fall asleep at the end of a session! Please read the contraindications below and ensure you are fully aware of them. In any session, if there is any sense of something not feeling right or an instruction that doesn’t resonate, please speak up.
